The XX

So, the blog is in need of another post. Sticking with the revision theme, I’d like to share another album that has kept me going through the winter. The XX are a relatively small, 3-piece band originating in London. However, their music has featured in numerous TV and Cinema soundtracks such as that of “Lie To Me”, “90210″, “Misfits”, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Waterloo Road”.
Their album xx (2009) features some pretty awesome soothing sounds that relax the mind, with hints of post-punk, R&B and indie pop. This works harmoniously with their emotive lyrics and the smooth voice of Jamie Smith (aka Jamie XX). Overall, this album is definitely worth a listen. It’s definitely not upbeat pop, so it probably won’t be to everyone’s taste. However, if you’re anything like me you may end up falling in love with this album.
